5785 Hebrew Year Prophetic Meaning: Redeeming the Time by the Grace of God

Friends, I’m so honored to be sharing this word for Jewish Year 5785: “Redeeming the Time by the Grace of God.” The anchor/theme verse is Ephesians 5:16: “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil…”

The word “time” in Ephesians 5:16 refers to kairos time and not chronos. Thus, 5785 is an important Kairos year in God’s timeline, and it will dictate the next several years! Conversely, the enemy seeks to manipulate this Kairos year to work in his favor. I believe that 5785 will dictate the trajectory of what happens economically, politically, socially, physically, etc. This isn’t a year that you dismiss as ‘yet another year’…nope… it’s THE year!

In regard to this word, God started speaking to me about redeeming the time in January. I then travailed on the word and remained in the secret place for months to get clarity on the message. I did lots of prayer, Bible study, and research, and now we are here.

So, back to the genesis of the message…

At the beginning of 2024, I started to reflect on my life. I told the Lord, “I know you are opening doors (and closing the evil ones) in the year 5784, but what about the trail of destruction the enemy left?” that’s when I heard the Lord gently tell me about redeeming time and restoration.

I heard in my Spirit, “As I open doors for you, I will redeem the time.” It reminded me of the leper who was healed and then made whole. So, the leprosy was not only stopped (via the open door of healing), but his body was also fully redeemed and made whole from the destruction of the leprosy (see Luke 17:19 KJV).

I started to get confirmation, and God-approvals were everywhere! I then started to creatively make videos about what I felt redeeming time meant (watch the one I made at the end of the post—it has an eclipse theme 😊).

Upon my preliminary search, I found a strong correlation between Grace, Faith, and Redemption. This went on to be a 20-page document (lol) that I’ve now edited down (phew) to this prophetic word for the year.

The letter Hei (5) – An Open Window

Hebrew Letter Hei

The Hebrew letter Hei (ה) is the fifth letter in the Hebrew alphabet with a numerical value of 5. In Hebrew, each letter represents a number and has a deep meaning and symbolism attached to it. In general, Hebrew letters are not just symbols used for writing, but they also have spiritual significance and contain hidden messages and teachings.

Now, let’s take a closer look at the Hei. It is composed of two smaller letters – Dalet (ד) and Yud (י). The Dalet is made up of one horizontal line representing width and another vertical line representing height. You may remember the dalet from last year’s word for the Hebrew year 5784, the year of the open doors. I believe that because the dalet features here, it’s important to revisit last year’s word for the year. It still applies.

On the other hand, the Yud is a small dot or line on the left side of the Dalet. The combination of these two letters creates what resembles an open window.

The letter Hey/Hei (5) – The Holy Spirit & The Breath of God!

The names of Abram and Sarai were changed by adding the letter’ hei.’ Let’s explore them thanks to Armstrong’s Institute of Biblical Archaeology:

Abram’s name meant “elevated father,” but with the addition of the letter’ hei,’ he became Abraham, which means “father of many nations.” This signifies God’s promise to make him a great nation and bless all the families of the earth through him.

Genesis 17:5: “No longer shall your name be called Abram (exalted father), but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.”

Similarly, Sarai’s name meant “princess,” but with the insertion of ‘hei,’ she became Sarah, which means “princess over all the princes and people that should come of her ….”This shows God’s plan for her to bear children and become a mother to many nations.

Genesis 17:15 Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai, your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but [a]Sarah shall be her name.

The letter’ hei’ is also significant in God’s name, LORD (YHVH). It appears twice, representing His breath and the Word that created the heavens and all things. This highlights the importance of involving the Holy Spirit in everything we do.

As we enter this new year, let us remember the significance of Abram and Sarai’s name changes and how they symbolize not only God’s promises for our lives but also the function of the Spirit or Breath of God. Friends, let us involve the Holy Spirit in all our actions, creative projects, and decisions, knowing that through Him, great things can be accomplished.

I stress- Please! …Do not enter the year 5785 with your own strength! I encourage you to walk in obedience to His word with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Joseph and Redemption

The association between the number five and redemption can be traced back to the story of Joseph, Rachel’s firstborn son. Joseph was sold by his brothers for twenty pieces of silver, which is equivalent to five shekels (I literally screamed when I found that out!).

The number five still holds great significance in the Jewish faith and can be seen in the ritual of Pidyon Haben, which means “Redeeming the Firstborn Son.” Ok, I know what you are thinking…what is that? Well, Pidyon Haben is a ritual that is still practiced today in many Jewish communities. The ritual involves the father of the firstborn son presenting five silver shekels to the Priest, who then recites a blessing over them before returning them to the father. According to My Jewish learning, it states, “Jewish tradition ties this ritual to the Exodus from Egypt, when the first-born sons of the Egyptians were killed, but those of the Israelites were spared and hence consecrated to God.” The reference text is Exodus 13:1-2.

When we look at Pidyon Haben, a symbolic ritual of redemption, as well as stories of Abraham, the Exodus, and Joseph… we see the common denominator is the number five (represented by the letter Hei). Truly, there is a strong connection between redemption and the significance of the letter Hei. Do you see it (the connection)?

Prophetic Keys for Success in Hebrew Year 5785

1. Grace and Faith Lead to Redemption

In Hebrew year 5785, it is important to focus on the concept of redemption and returning to the basics. Can I be honest? As a society, we’ve become consumed by and caught up in various fads, trends, and discussions that may distract us from what truly matters.

One fundamental aspect that we should always come back to is the notion of Grace, Faith, & Redemption. This can be found in Ephesians 2:8-9 which states, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

If we view this verse as a mathematical equation, we can see that the two components of grace and faith are important when it comes to our redemption. Grace + Faith = Redemption (I’m not trying to make a weird doctrine or analogy out of this, but just to show you the correlation). It is not one or the other but rather a combination of both that leads to our salvation.

In today’s world, there may be a focus on works and actions as a means of earning redemption. However, this verse reminds us that it is not by our own efforts or deeds that we are saved, but rather through God’s gift of grace and our faith in Him. This serves as a gentle reminder to always come back to the basics and remember the simple truth of our redemption through God’s love and mercy.

2. The Importance of JESUS & Redemption

Friends, let us understand that the very core of redemption is centered around Jesus and his ultimate sacrifice for humankind. In 5785, people may look to others as a “savior,” but we need to look to our sweet, sweet Lord Jesus. God may use man to fulfill his will on this earth, but we need to be careful not to shift our gaze to the man (or men) he chooses.

I’ll also note that the word “redemption” comes from Latin roots, meaning “to buy back.” In essence, redemption refers to the act of paying a price or making a sacrifice to rescue or deliver someone from a difficult or desperate situation. This means Jesus paid the ultimate price—his life—to save humanity from sin and its consequences.

Redemption extends beyond personal salvation. It speaks to the restoration of all things—both individuals and creation as a whole. Through Jesus’ sacrifice, we are not only redeemed as individuals but also given hope for the redemption and renewal of all things in the future.

3. Seizing Kairos Moments

In the year 5785, it is important to stay alert and seize every kairos moment that comes our way. These moments are opportunities given by God for us to fulfill our purpose and not miss the mark. By staying in tune with the Holy Spirit, we can discern these moments and take action toward fulfilling our destiny.

Read more about Kairos’ moments in my post titled, “Chronos vs Kairos (A Biblical Analysis of Time).”

4. Holy Spirit Breath

The Holy Spirit plays a crucial role in our journey towards success. Just as God breathed (Hei) into Abram to become Abraham, the Holy Spirit breathes new life into us and guides us toward our purpose. By staying connected to the Holy Spirit, we can overcome any challenges that may come our way.

5. Embracing Creativity

As I mentioned earlier, the letter ‘hei’ appears twice in LORD (YHVH). It represents God’s breath and the Word that created the heavens and all things. Our Heavenly Father is the ultimate creator, and as His children, we are also blessed with creativity. In the year 5785, we should not be afraid to think outside the box and embrace our creative abilities.

If you want to be more creative, please read my blog post titled “11 Tips to Become More Creative as a Christian | Bible Study on Creativity.”

6. Recognizing Windows of Time & Opportunity

Earlier, I stated that the combination of yud and dalet (which make up hei) resembles an open window. As we enter the year 5785, it is important to recognize these windows of opportunity presented by God. We must take action before they close.

7. Reliance on our Heavenly Father (ABBA!)

Both Joseph and Daniel, who operated in the Spirit of Excellence, didn’t rely on their giftings. Instead, they lived a consecrated life, even in the face of temptation, and they fully relied on God and not their gifts.

8. Cultivating Discernment

I spoke of this last year in great detail… Please let us cultivate discernment and listen for God’s voice in our own lives. I know that kinda sounds strange because I’m sharing this prophetic word for the year🤣. However, I took seven months in the secret place- consecrated to God to get this word. It wasn’t easy praying and reading the Bible through the night (when everyone else was asleep!)… but I wanted to hear God for myself. I believe it becomes even more special that way! Please take time to hear God as well.

NOTE: I do not advocate for over-reliance on prophecy, but I believe in a balance between prophecy and decisive action. As we seek God’s will and direction, we can avoid making decisions that may lead us astray.

9. The Importance of Forgiveness and Repentance

Grace and Redemption are also connected to forgiveness and repentance. Since God has forgiven us, we need also to do the same (see Ephesians 4:32).

Let us also reflect on Joseph’s life; we see a powerful example of forgiveness and repentance. Despite being betrayed by his brothers, he chose to forgive them and showed compassion toward them in their time of need.

As we enter into the year 5785…let us also take time for introspection and seek forgiveness from those we may have wronged.

And that’s it, folks, the prophetic meaning of the Hebrew/Jewish Year 5785

I hope that this blog post blessed you!

This word for the year has a duality element where the reverse can be true. I pray that you prepare adequately and turn to God because this is a Kairos year that will shape the next few years!

Last year, I stated, “I don’t believe in naming and claiming it if heaven isn’t backing it!” This remains true this year! This word isn’t for everyone, and we need to be sincere if it doesn’t speak to us.❤️

    • Your comment is so profound Jody! I woke up with this verse in my heart: Malachai 3:10 “…open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.” So the fact that you said OPEN WINDOW to allow BLESSINGS…I know you heard from God. Thank you Jody for the confirmation. May the Almighty God also open windows so that you can access blessings as well. Hugs, Heather

  2. Thank very much for sharing these words that were hard earned in the place of obedience. I can confirm that my spirit bears witness to everything you have said.

There is a particular creative window of opportunity that God has opened for me and today is the deadline. What are the odds? I have been fighting it for one week but I will act on it the moment I finish typing this.

The theme of grace and faith is also very apt as God has been teaching me all year long that even though he wants my obedience and participation, I must learn to covet and receive his grace and mercy.

I have much to say but I will stop here. Thank you very much. God bless you. May you be the first partaker of these words.

  4. Thank you for your profound insight. Might I suggest you add a printer friendly button on your site so we can get a clean compact version. I wanted to share copies of this with our prayer group and couldn’t copy and paste due to the excessive ads. also it was 8 pages to print minus the comments. God bless.

    • Hello! Thank you for your input and feedback. I receive it with grace and humility. Please try and print via duckduckgo as they don’t have ads via that search engine. Apologies for the ads…that’s the only way I keep all my material free (this blog is over 15 years old). I don’t have a ministry model where I charge or receive donations on this website (God hasn’t allowed me to do so and has instructed me to have the material free), so the ads help me pay for my expenses at a break-even point. If you need anything else or a compressed pdf version please use the contact form to reach me. I’ll also research on the print functionality. I appreciate you. God bless!

  5. It’s nice to know, that a brother or sister, can hear his voice. We might be in the last days where our blessings are multiplied when serving Christ Jesus. Find the gift the Holy Spirit gave you when you were sealed with his spirit. Use it with might, as you receive your rewards.
    Brother, in Christ Yeshua
