I had a rough day yesterday. I woke up with a headache, and it just got worse as the day went on.
I had a lot on my mind, so I decided to go for a walk in the park. Even before I could stretch my legs, I saw huge rain clouds (nimbus clouds), heard thunder, and saw lightning in the sky. I felt like, goodness, like really?
This was when the most amazing thing happened.
Here is the original poem I wrote after the incident, plus raw, unedited pictures:
I Saw Heaven in the Clouds (Poem)
Yesterday I had a rough day
I decided to take a walk to keep the thoughts at bay.
I arrived at the park, and immediately heard thunder
I began to ponder as I looked at the heavy nimbus clouds
Surely, I can’t stay; the thunder is awfully loud.
As I saw flashes of lightning, I hopped back into my car
More nimbus clouds popped as I thought, “I’m going to be in the eye of the storm.”
As I drove, I heard a whisper, “look up, there’s hope.”
I gazed toward the skies, and I began to sob
I saw heaven in the clouds
The most beautiful soft clouds of stairs were going heavenward
A bright golden light pierced through the dark nimbus clouds
I heard another whisper, “I am here; I will never leave nor forsake you.”

And that’s it, folks, my testimony, and encouragement
Isn’t it amazing that God can use His creation to send beautiful messages to us?
Can you imagine huge rain clouds are all over, and it’s about to storm, but there is one section where the skies began to part, and I see the most amazing scene ever? Honestly, my phone didn’t do much justice.
Life is full of ups and downs, but it’s important to remember that God is always with us. Even when things appear dark and gloomy, just know that the Lord’s light will shine through. He is our refuge; He is our strength. We may not always see it, but He is there guiding us through the tough times.
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Psalm 30:5
I hope this blog post has inspired you to look for the good even when things are tough.
P.S Feel free to read my other poem, “Secret to Happiness”

It is wonderful how God comes to us in the midst of our worst days
Indeed! It’s wonderful and always much appreciated.
Wow! What a beautiful testimony. He cares and it never ceases to amaze me to hear of God showing up in ways like this.
May you find strength and rest in Him Heather.
