What is a vision board?
A vision board is a powerful tool to help you visualize your dreams and goals. It can be used in any area of life: relationships, career, finances, etc., But I’m not referring to any random board – it needs to be a Christian vision board. Why? Because without Jesus, our dreams and goals can easily become worldly and selfish.
Let’s start with understanding the importance of a Christian vision board…
9 reasons why a Christian vision board is important
1. It allows you to see what God has in store for you
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV. When we create a vision board, we are asking God to show us what He has in store for our lives. We align our hearts with His and seek His will for our lives.
2. It helps keep your focus on God
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33 NIV. When we have a vision for our lives, it is so easy to get caught up in the “things” of this world and lose sight of what is truly important. A vision board helps to keep our focus on God and His kingdom.
3. It reminds you of your purpose
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 NIV. We all have a unique purpose and calling on our lives. A vision board is an excellent reminder of the specific ways that God has called us to serve Him and others.
3. It helps you overcome discouragement
“The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1-2 NIV. When we feel discouraged, it is so easy to focus on our circumstances and forget about all that God has done for us. A vision board can help us overcome discouragement by reminding us of all that God has in store for us.
4. It gives you hope
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 NIV. Hope is an essential part of the Christian life. We have hope because we know that God is in control and that He has a plan for our lives. A vision board is an excellent reminder of the hope that we have in Christ.
5. It helps you to dream

“I can do all things through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 NIV. We are so easily tempted to think that we can do everything on our own. A vision board is a great reminder that we need God’s strength and power in order to accomplish anything in this life.
8. It helps to keep your thoughts focused on things that are good and pure
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians 4:8 NIV. In a world that is so full of negativity, it is so important to focus our thoughts on things that are good and pure. A vision board can help us to do just that.
9. It reminds you that God is faithful
“God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV. We all face temptations and trials in this life. A vision board can help us to remember that God is faithful and that He will always provide a way for us to overcome those things.
