This post is all about spiritual warfare at work
Hey friends, I am honored to be writing about spiritual warfare at work.
Let’s start with some questions…
Are you facing challenges at work? Feeling like you’re under spiritual attack? Don’t worry; you’re not alone. I faced intense spiritual warfare in some of my workplaces. I briefly documented this in my book Made of Still. So, this topic is sensitive but also pulls at my heartstrings because I’ve been there.
In this blog post, I will discuss how to navigate these work challenges. I will look at what the Bible says about this topic and offer Christian principles that can help you persevere.
God is with you in every situation, and He wants to help you overcome any obstacle in your way!
What is spiritual warfare?
Spiritual warfare is the struggle against the world, the flesh, and the devil. It’s a daily battle that every Christian must fight. The Bible tells us to be alert and on guard because our spiritual enemy, the devil, prowls around like a lion looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8).
In order to navigate spiritual warfare at work, we need to be equipped with the spiritual armor of God. The armor of God is found in Ephesians 6:11-19. It consists of the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted with readiness, the shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
Spiritual warfare is not something to be taken lightly. It’s a real and daily battle that we must be prepared to fight. But take heart! We are not alone in this fight. God is with us, and He has equipped us with everything we need to stand firm against the enemy. So, let’s put on our armor, pick up our sword, and fight the good fight!
Scripture for toxic work environment

The Bible has a lot to say about our work and how we are to conduct ourselves. Many scriptures can provide guidance and comfort when facing complex challenges or feeling attacked by the enemy.
Here are some key scriptures to keep in mind when spiritual warfare hits close to home:
- “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13
- “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”- Revelation 12:11
- “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” –James 4:7
- “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”- Ephesians 6:10-11
- “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” –Ephesians 6:12
When spiritual warfare comes knocking at our door, we must remember our true enemy. We are not fighting against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of evil. This is why it’s so important to be in prayer and have our spiritual armor on at all times.
Example in Bible of spiritual warfare at work
When we feel attacked or challenged at work, it’s important to remember that we are not alone. God is with us, and He is fighting for us. We can also take comfort in knowing that we are not the only ones experiencing spiritual warfare. The Bible is full of accounts of God’s people overcoming difficulties through His strength and power.
In the Bible, we see Spiritual warfare in Daniel’s story. Daniel was elevated to a high position, and spiritual warfare came against him through other people at work who were jealous. They tricked the king into signing a law that would have gotten Daniel killed. But because of his relationship with God, he knew how to navigate that situation and ended up not getting harmed.
Elijah Provision and how it relates to spiritual warfare at work
When we are in spiritual warfare, it is essential to remember that God will provide for us. He always has and always will. We see this throughout scripture, but one example is when Jezebel and her servants were pursuing Elijah. Elijah was so afraid that he ran for his life and ended up in the wilderness. He was so discouraged that he asked God to take his life. But God had other plans.
God sent an angel to Elijah with food and water, and Elijah was able to continue on his journey. This is just one example of how God will provide for us when we are in spiritual warfare. We may not always understand why things are happening, but we can trust that God will take care of us.
So, when facing spiritual warfare at work, remember that God is with you, and He will provide for you. You may not know how He will do it, but have faith that He will. Trust in His timing and ways, and He will see you through.
Spiritual Warfare prayers for the workplace
If you are feeling under attack at work, here are some specific spiritual warfare prayers points you can pray:
-Father God, I thank You that I am more than a conqueror in Christ.
–I bind the spiritual forces of darkness that are attacking me and my work situation, and I command them to leave in Jesus’ name.
–I declare that the enemy will not steal my joy, peace, or purpose.
I proclaim that You are my strength and my shield. I will not be afraid, for You are with me.
-I ask for Your wisdom and discernment to know how to handle this situation.
– I also pray for strength, courage, and boldness to stand up for myself and what is right.
-I thank You that You are a God who fights for me. I trust in Your sovereignty and goodness, and I know that You will work this situation out for my good and Your glory.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you are currently facing spiritual warfare at work, know that you are not alone. Seek God’s wisdom and guidance on navigating the challenges you are facing. Pray for strength, courage, and boldness to stand firm in your faith. And remember, the enemy will not win in the end! God is sovereign, and He will work everything out for His glory and our good.
Tips when your job is on the line
When you’re in the midst of spiritual warfare at work and your job is on the line, it’s important to remember a few things.
- First, remember who your real enemy is. It’s not your co-worker who is frustrating you. It’s not your boss who is micromanaging you. It’s not the company that is downsizing you. Your real enemy is Satan and his spiritual forces.
- Second, take up the whole armor of God. This includes truth, righteousness, the gospel, faith, salvation, and the Word of God.
- Third, pray. Pray for strength, wisdom, and courage. And pray for your co-workers and bosses too. They need it just as much as you do!

It is often easy to feel alone and lost when we are in spiritual warfare. We can feel like we are the only ones fighting the good fight. But spiritual warfare is not something that we have to go through alone. In fact, many people have gone before us and have fought the good fight.
Here are nine tips on how to navigate spiritual warfare at work:
- Pray for guidance from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our Comforter and Helper. He will guide us through whatever challenges we face. We can pray for ourselves, our co-workers, our bosses, and our company. We are to pray for strength, wisdom, and guidance.
- Read your Bible regularly. God’s Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105). It will give us wisdom and direction on how to navigate spiritual warfare.
- Seek counsel from godly people. Many people in the Body of Christ have gone through spiritual warfare themselves. They can offer us wisdom and guidance on how to persevere.
- Stay focused on Jesus Christ. When we keep our eyes on Jesus, we will be able to overcome any spiritual attack that comes our way.
- Use spiritual warfare weapons. There are many spiritual weapons that God has given us to fight the enemy. These include the armor of God, the sword of the Spirit, and prayer.
- Stand firm in your faith. When we stand firm in our faith, we are putting on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6). This will help us to withstand any attack that comes our way.
- Persevere in prayer. Prayer is one of the most powerful spiritual weapons that we have. When we persevere in prayer, we are serious about fighting the enemy.
- Love your enemies. This may seem counterintuitive, but when we love our enemies, it shows that we are more concerned with God’s will than our own. It also confuses the enemy and makes them more likely to leave us alone.
- Be an ambassador for Christ. As Christians, we are called to be ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). This means that we are to represent Him well in the workplace and be a testimony for His love and grace.
Prayer for a new job and exit strategy from a difficult work situation
We all know what it’s like to be in a difficult work situation. Maybe your boss is constantly putting you down, or you’re stuck in a job that you hate with no way out. Whatever the case may be, we can all use a little help from God regarding our careers.
That’s why I want to share this powerful prayer for a new job. If you’re currently in a challenging work situation, I encourage you to pray this prayer and ask God for an exit strategy. And if you’re not in a challenging work situation, but you’re simply looking for a new job, this prayer is perfect for that too!
“Dear God,
I come to you today asking for a new job. I know that you have a plan for my life, and I trust that you will lead me to the right place. Lord, I ask that you open doors of opportunity for me and help me find the perfect job for my skills and talents.
I also ask that you give me the strength and wisdom to know when it’s time to leave a difficult work situation. I know that your timing is perfect, and I trust that you will lead me out of this difficult time.
Thank you for hearing my prayer, God. I know that you are faithful, and I trust that you will answer in accordance with your will. Amen.”
If you’re currently facing spiritual warfare at work, I encourage you to pray this prayer and ask God for guidance. He will give you the strength and wisdom you need to navigate these challenges and come out victoriously! “
Lastly, I have a YouTube video that will be going up on 04/04/2022 that talks about how you can use Habakkuk 2:2-3 principles to secure your dream job. I hope you watch it once it becomes available. Here is the link that will go live on 04/04/2022:
Spiritual principles for workplace success
The Bible is full of spiritual principles that can help us be successful in the workplace.
One principle is to have a good work ethic. Colossians says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” This means that we should give our best effort to everything we do as if we are working for God.
For my second point, I want to highlight the spiritual principle of being a peacemaker. The Bible says in Matthew, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” If we can be people who help bring peace to our workplace, it will be a reflection of God’s character.
Finally, we should never forget that we are working for an audience of one. As per the Colossians scripture that I mentioned earlier, we are to do work as if we are working for the Lord. This means that our ultimate goal should be to please God, not people.
If we keep these spiritual principles in mind, we will be more likely to navigate the challenges and difficulties of the workplace successfully.
Human Resources, what Christians should know
Sometimes Christians can opt just to forgive and overlook grave concerns that they may have at a workplace.
Here is my message to you:
If you are experiencing spiritual warfare at work, it is crucial to know when to go to Human Resources. If you feel like you are being harassed or discriminated against, if you feel like your safety is in danger, or if you are being asked to do something that goes against your values, it is essential to reach out to HR. They can help you navigate the situation and figure out what your next steps should be. Alternatively, other jobs provide anonymous third hotlines to report any issues you may have. Please check with your employee handbook to verify the information.
When we are spiritually attacked at work, we need to be prepared. We need to know what our spiritual weapons are and how to use them. We also need to be aware of the enemy’s tactics. The devil will try to discourage us, tempt us, and deceive us. But we have the victory in Christ!
As always, pray for discernment, spiritual guidance, and understanding.
And that’s it, folks, spiritual warfare at work!
As, I close, I stress that Spiritual warfare at work is difficult, but it can be navigated with the right tools and strategies. By representing God, spreading love, and being an ambassador for Christ, you can make a difference in your workplace. You can also persevere through any challenges by relying on God’s strength.
I pray this post will provide solace and help you navigate through any warfare you are experiencing!
