Have you started to create a Christian Music Workout Playlist and are wondering what songs you should include? Then this post is for you!
I want to start by saying that I do not particularly like working out, but I try.
Hopefully, as I progress, I can move to a more advanced workout regimen, but for now, this works! And in all honesty, sometimes I don’t know what I am doing so that’s why I stick to running on the treadmill. 😂
As we begin, I have to mention this…chances are, if you are near me in a workout, I am more focused on the music at times…more than the workout. Hehe. 😂 But seriously, music is my serious motivator for working out.
So, let’s cut to the chase; here is my updated Spotify list with roughly 1 hour 30 minutes of music! I sometimes skip the songs depending on my mood, but this exhaustive list is enough for me to go through a 30-40 minutes session of cardio on the treadmill.
My Ultimate Christian Music Workout Playlist
I think of my playlist music in 3 sections: warm-up, high-energy Christian music, then a cool down.
The Warm-up section is typically worship music. You will see that I have 3 song selections currently, but most of the time, I need one (depending on the length) to begin the high-energy session.
For my high-energy session, I gravitate to contemporary Christian music, and rock. I usually like to do H.I.I.T (High-Intensity Interval Training) on the treadmill. So, this music has bursts of tempo that I tend to sync with my running. They are upbeat Christian songs to dance to!
For cooldown, I like to slow down the tempo and move back to slower songs. One song that’s fixed on my cooldown list is “Peace” by Hillsong Young and Free.
So here goes, a brief snippet of each song.
WARM-UP

“Hills and Valleys” by Tauren Wells
This is the perfect song to start an intense workout. I really love this song and the inspiration for the song. When FreeCCM interviewed Tauren, he stated that:
“We’re standing in God’s grace, and His grace is enough—He’s the God of the hills and the valleys.”
“Out of my hands” by Jeremy Camp
What’s not to love about this artist! I grew up listening to him. I love this song because it speaks to complete surrender to God.
“Promise” by Maverick City Music
Wow, this is also another great worship song to start a workout. It’s a beautiful song that reminds us that God is faithful and He keeps His promises!
“Waymaker” by Sinach
This was a song that was an anthem for a portion of my life. When I listen to this song, I immediately think of the following verse:
Isaiah 45:2 I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.
Our God is a way maker indeed!!
UPBEAT- HIGH ENERGY CHRISTIAN MUSIC

” I Trust You” by Johnathan Traylor
This is a 100% feel-good, upbeat song, and it’s a great introduction and ease into the high-energy section of my workout.
“Joy” by For King and Country
My favorite band of all time!! They are super awesome, and I love their accents even more!
“Bulletproof” by Citizen Way
Another favorite…can’t you tell? I love my songs so much!
“Me Without You” by TobyMac
Need I say more?
“Prophesy” by Planet Shakers
Love it! Found them recently.
“God’s not dead” by Newsboys
NEWSBOYSSSSSS!
“This Is Living” by Hillsong Y&F (feat. Lecrae)
Lecrae brought the I.T. factor in this song!
“Ceasefire” by For King and Country
This was the soundtrack for one of my favorite movies- Ben-Hur. The fun fact is that I have watched the original movie over 20 times! It was a favorite one in my family.
“Chain Breaker” & “Old Church Choir” by Zach Williams
What’s not to love about Zach Williams!
“Alive” by Hillsong and Free
Listen, then hit REPEAT!
“Build your Kingdom Here” by Rend Collective
There’s something special about this song. It’s also weathered many playlists and maintained on my list as a workout favorite.
“All around me” by Flyleaf
These are the songs that I listen to when I am tired and need the last push in my workout. This one is heavy rock, and I love it!
I also love the lead singer’s (Lacey Strum’s) beautiful testimony.
“Anchor” by Skillet
When this song was initially released, it quickly became one of my favorites. It has weathered my playlists revisions and has maintained! xoxo
COOLDOWN MUSIC

“My Jesus” by Anne Wilson
Need I say more…I wrote an entire blog post about “My Jesus” by Anne Wilson right here!
“As I am” & “Peace” by Hillsong Y&F
We are slowing down the tempo, and these are my favorite songs to cool down to!!
And that’s it, friends… My Ultimate Christian Music Workout Playlist

Began reading your book. Finished the first three chapters. Pastor Stella, what a wonderful lady. And writing down your vision, taking that leap of faith and praying for it — yes!!
I remember you mention it in your YouTube video, the vision board I mean.
Wow! I am so happy that you have started reading the book! You are truly a blessing!
Cool! Blessings!
I would love to try them 🙂
