Debt Treadmill

NIV
[Ro 13:8] Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.

We live in a time that debt has become the norm for majority of the American citizens. Be it student loans, credit card debt, car loans etc. We are spending more than we have and owing more than we can pay. We live in a “work-spend” environment that causes us to be in a downward spiral.

Imagine taking a stroll in the park vs. walking on a treadmill. When we actually walk in the park, we are gaining distance. We are steadily moving from Point A to Point B. If we walk on a treadmill, we are in the same position. This is the same with credit card debt. Majority of Americans are on the treadmill and possibly will be on there for a long time unless they

a)      File for bankruptcy

b)      Get out of debt.

Ultimately, “We’re moving from a conspicuous consumption — which is ‘buy without regard’ — to a calculated consumption,” says Marshal Cohen, an analyst at the NPD Group, the retailing research and consulting firm.

Avoid greedy lifestyles that coerce you to SPEND!!  Invest, be a shrewd spender!

Debt is not the will of God. Remember he paid for our sins on Calvary. He paid our debt.

Pray, sacrifice and work to eradicate DEBT!

This is my Prayer Unto thee Lord,

NASB
[Dt 28:12] “The LORD will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

AMEN
