I’m humbled that you are here on my blog! I am so happy to “meet you”.
History of my blog:
I am an INFJ and have always loved to journal. So to no surprise, I started my blog 10 years ago as a way to express myself. Although I was somewhat random in my posts, I always leaned heavily towards faith and spirituality. With time, I thought it was best to change the “tune” of my blog to find an outlet to speak about my daughter’s developmental delays.
My daughter’s autism diagnosis:
When I found out that I was pregnant with my daughter, I tried to do everything right i.e. eating healthy meals. My beautiful daughter was born with a perfect APGAR score. She weighed 8 lbs 12 ounces (huge!). She hit all her milestones and walked at 9 months! There were no signs of delay, but at some point, I started to notice slow regression. When my daughter was 2 1/2 years old, I stopped breastfeeding (I know 2.5 years is a LONG time!). By age 3, my daughter had become nonverbal and this is when she got her Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and started school. With continued speech therapy, she began to communicate again (mostly through echolalia) but she had lost quite a bit of skill. With her regression came behavioral problems. At 3 1/2 years, my daughter was officially diagnosed with Autism.
My theme or blogging anchors:
My blog has always been dear to me since it has been a place where I can vent, converse with God and try to make sense of a situation. I hope you will be able to identify with the posts.
