When God gave Elijah direction regarding his destination- brook Cherith, he promised provision. He didn’t tell Elijah that this supernatural provision will be provided at his current location. He was told to take a leap of FAITH and leave towards his destination and he would receive provision at the place called “there.”
1 Kings 17: 3- 4 (KJV)
Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
I know FAITH sounds completely illogical in today’s standards. Faith has been reduced to a noun and has seized to become an action. As Christians, we should understand that faith is an action. It requires us to ACT in obedience to the word and will of our father.
Hebrews 11: 1-2 (MSG)
The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.
My dear friends, I don’t know where your destination “there” is, but I must tell you that there is a relationship between provision and obedience. Many of the people in the bible stepped into their calling by trusting God. Imagine Abraham being told to leave all he knew behind to become “the father of many nations,” yet he had not sired a child yet. David, anointed king, yet he was a shepherd boy, faith enabled him to step into his divine calling.
Dear ones, I don’t know where “there” is for you. Is it a job? Is it a business? Is it YouTube? Is it starting a church? Whatever it is, I tell you that we can rest in the peace of our unchanging God and his word that is truth! Be still, and listen to the Lord, then embark on your journey to destination: THERE.
Amen 🙏🏿. I enjoyed this post. It’s interesting because our word for this month in my church is Going Deeper in Faith. It’s takes faith but we must be obedience. We can Say we believe in the Lord but refuse to be obedient to the assignment. Our faith must be connected to our obedience. We must not just talk but walk when it’s time. Thank you for sharing 😊
Amen!!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 I agree that we sometimes refuse to be obedient 😰Indeed, per what you said…our faith must be connected to our obedience! 🌺
This post is excellent! Faith is definitely action and is taken one step at a time!
Thank you so much!!!! 😊 one step at a time indeed 🌺🌺🌺
Amen. Great encouraging post. I receive these words. Thank you for sharing with us.
Amen!!! Glad it encouraged you 🌺
Loved this! I love how you made “there” a destination, a place. And, we each have a “there” if we are willing to listen and to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in our lives. I also loved how you said that faith is not a noun, but it is action. Amen to that one! This is very good!! And, right on target, too. Thank you so much!!
Awww!!! Thank you so much for the kindness 🌺🌺🌺 I appreciate it. Be blessed abundantly
