I am the Vine

To God be the glory.

He has blessed me, he has kept me. He continues to reveal himself even in the quietest of times. He shows himself in the most trying and the most victorious. He is always with me. AMEN AND AMEN!

There has been something that has been weighing heavy in my heart. I know what God wants me to do. I am eager to do it, to fulfill my purpose. My ultimate goal on this earth. Question is- when, where and how?

How can I take over God’s plans for me? I am not the author of them. The Lord my God is the author and finisher of my faith. He knows the plans and they are indeed for prosperity. Sweet Jesus, I am truly eager.

Before I lose my readers…however few they may be . Let me explain. I was speaking out loud to a situation am in. I know the plans that God has for me- plans for prosperity. The sad thing is I wanted so badly to fulfill his plans that I kinda took over and tried to steer myself into his plans. Of course they did not work. It never works that way. There is no shortcut to whatever God has in store and certainly- we cannot modify time and the ultimate plan. See, picture God creating you. Then he thinks of every minute detail. Down to your last breath. He is the ALPHA and OMEGA people- HELLO! So who am I to come to Jesus and say, “Ummm….the plan that you had for me. I think it needs a few tweaks here and there” How can I tell the master of the universe to make the sun a tad bit warmer or the earth to be inclined “slightly to the left”. That can’t happen. I have decided to sit and wait for that call. The time he tells me- strap your boots honey! It’s time!

Well, today I went for a women’s fellowship and I heard God speak. This is the verse-

John 15

New International Version (NIV)

The Vine and the Branches

15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

I don’t know why I have read this verse a thousand times over but it hit me today. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. That means he is pruning me. What is to prune anyway? According to Merriam Webster it means- to cut off or cut back parts of for better shape or more fruitful growth.

Tea farmers do this a lot. Seems easy right? Prune and the harvest will be plenty. Well, not so much. I feel as if now I am stagnant and I want to hasten God’s plans. Well, maybe God is pruning me. He is preparing me to bear great fruit. It makes sense to me. I have been in the same job for 3 years now. I feel stagnant. I have tried to apply to so many places. Places that I saw fit…not God.

I hope you understand this post. I am really rusty with my post. It’s been so long and I wanted to write while I am still FIRED UP!

PRAISE JESUS- FOR HE IS THE VINE. I will remain in you, and I will bear much fruit.
