He has not brought me this far to leave me!

This post is about: God didn’t bring me this far to leave me!

God truly didn’t leave me! (Testimony!)

This post was originally published on May 30th, 2010. I thought it would be best to give you a testimony (11 years later–ha!)

So I graduated from undergraduate school in May 2010, in the middle of a recession. I had a Finance Degree and was unable to secure a job!!

So when I was writing this post, I boldly declared that God didn’t bring me this far to leave me!

Without going into the weeds, everything was stacked AGAINST me.

Then, around the time I wrote this, I got a job offer in the healthcare field (this was the only available job).

Then it turns out that this was actually God-positioning me. I never used my finance degree but instead stayed in the HealthCare/ Patient advocacy realm for a long time- 11 years, to be exact!

Ok, so let me go back to the original post:

Original post May 30th 2010:

I went to church today, and I could not believe that the month is practically over, and we are yet to usher June into our lives. I have been praying and waiting for God to answer my humble prayers. I wonder, how long can I push? How long can I hang on?

Even so, I boldly say: My hope isn’t in man, in jobs, or myself …but in GOD!

Even in waiting, I remember the following:

Our Father states, ” No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13)

I believe that I will have a miracle…

Merriam Webster defines a Miracle as “an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment” Yes, it is an extremely unusual thing to find a great job, if at all any job, in a harsh economy…but I know God will see me through!!! –

One of my favorite songs in high school states, ” I do not believe he has brought me this far to leave me.”

I do believe this, for if God were to bring me this far and leave me, it would be absurd, it would conflict his teachings, it would conflict my whole well-being: my very existence.

I leave you with the very words of that song that I remember in high school. It is by Mary Mary:

“Can’t Give Up Now”

There will be mountains that I will have to climb
And there will be battles that I will have to fight
But victory or defeat, it’s up to me to decide
But how can I expect to win If I never try.

I just can’t give up now
I’ve come too far from where I started from
Nobody told me the road would be easy
And I don’t believe he brought me this far to leave me

Never said there wouldn’t be trials
Never said I wouldn’t fall
Never said that everything would go the way I want it to go
But when my back is against the wall
And I feel all hope is gone,
I’ll just lift my head up to the sky
And say help me to be strong

I just can’t give up now
I’ve come too far from where I started from
Nobody told me the road would be easy
And I don’t believe he brought me this far to leave me

[Hook:]
No you didn’t bring me out here to leave me lonely
Even when I can’t see clearly
I know that you are with me(so I can’t)

I just can’t give up now
I’ve come too far from where I started from
Nobody told me the road would be easy
And I don’t believe he brought me this far to leave me

MY REFLECTION

I am writing this reflection as of August 1st, 2021…11 years later! Please note that I also wrote another testimony in June 2010.

Ok, now that you have read my 2010 post…I can tell you that everything works for your good! (See Romans 8:28)

God did come through for me in a big way.

I also realize that He (God) was repositioning me to enter into my divine purpose.

I worked for over 10 years in a field that I loved- Patient Advocacy/Healthcare and that later led to obtaining a Masters in a related field.

With that knowledge, I was able to author a book titled “Made of Still.” That went on to become an Amazon Best Seller.

Friends, I remember writing this blog post 10 years ago. I can still remember typing it out and how it was truly a difficult time in my life. I can still feel the raw emotions too!

In hindsight, I can say God was truly holding me, and he never left me!

Philippians 1:6 (KJV) – Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Hebrews 13:5 (KJV) – …for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

God hasn’t left you either!

If you are in this season that I was in 10 years ago….don’t worry…God has got your back too!

And that’s it- I confirm and I testify: God didn’t bring me this far to leave me

Hugs!
